Thank you for using ARtifact (“we”, “our”, “us”).

Your privacy is very important to us. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our mobile application (“the App”).

1. Information We Collect

We collect only the information necessary to provide and improve the functionality of ARtifact:

Email Address: Collected when you create or log into your account. This is used solely for authentication and communication related to your account.
Camera Access and Images: The App requests camera access to enable image recognition features that identify artworks and provide related content. Images captured through the camera are processed and stored securely for functionality within the App but are not shared, sold, or publicly displayed.
In-App Activity: We store your favorites, artwork visit history, quest progress, and experience points (XP) to provide the App’s core features.

We do not collect or store any additional personal data. The App does not request or use your location.

2. How We Use Your Information

Your information is used only to:

Enable and support AR-based artwork recognition features.
Maintain and secure user authentication.
Track your in-app progress, favorites, and achievements.
Improve app performance and user experience.

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with any third parties.

3. Data Storage and Security

All data (including images) is securely stored using Amazon Web Services (AWS) infrastructure. We take reasonable steps to protect your information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. However, please note that no electronic storage method is 100% secure.

4. Third-Party Services

ARtifact uses the following third-party services:

Amazon Web Services (AWS) — for data storage, hosting, authentication, and AI processing AWS Privacy Policy

These services may collect minimal, non-identifiable technical information (e.g., device type, error logs) as part of standard operation.

5. Account and Data Deletion

You can delete your account and all associated data (including your email address, favorites, visit history, and quest progress) at any time directly within the app. Account deletion is processed promptly and permanently — no email request is required.

6. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. Updates will be reflected by a new “Last updated” date at the top of this page. You are encouraged to review this policy from time to time.
